Missing 5 or more pills increases the chance that your fertility will return soon but I don't think there's an exact percentage. No, the pill does not cause ovulation, it stops it.

I've never been on B/c due to medical reasons. However i've been told that it can take anywhere from 6 months to longer to concieve after gettin off the b/c because it takes your body a while to adjust. The pill supposedly suppresses ovulation so that it doesn't happen at all. But it doesn't always work so you don't know in any one month whether or not you have ovulated or not. The pill makes your body think it's pregnant.

No offense but if you're trying to get pregnant then your doctor is a moron for putting you on birth control. You should mention to him or her about putting you on metformin. It is a diabetes medication but it is also used to regulate periods and help in ovulation. My periods ranged from 1 - 4 years and now I'm on metformin they are 28days like clockwork.

just use a condom to keep from getting pregnant if you dont know about the pill.
