He may be saying he would prefer a girl in the hope he has a son.
Its that , I never get what I want thing so if I say I want a girl........
But then maybe he really wants a girl.
As for a new baby, they really offer little to a man for a number of months. He really will not fully appreciate having a kid until they can hang together. So don't be too surprised if he does not get all agog about the baby. If he does not want to do the delivery room thing don't press him. I saw both of my son's deliveries and wish I had not. We almost lost one, very disturbing, and the next was a relief. We might have had more than two had it not been for that. Our OB recognized this and told my wife that when she was relenting only having the two.
Always remember, lack of sleep is seldom fatal.

Hi Jay . I have to say congratulations first of all I hope all goes well for you three .
I wanted a boy and now have two absolutely beautiful girls
I Can say that I was never disappointed to here what sex my children were > He will have a boy to teach to crawl walk ride a bike catch a ball go fishing sit on the couch and yell with as the nasca races finish close . The fact that its a boy or a girl will be forgotten when he looks into those little baby blues and sees the love that created his child (yes his child) to hold him in his arms and feel how frail and yet alive your child is will make this man a just as frail as the baby in his hands .

Im sure when the little bundle of joy arrives he will love him just the same. He just meant it would be nice too have a girl. you can try again later don't worry. I had a neighbour that i lived next two and he had 3 boys. and then the street across from me had 3 girls . but they loved there kids just the way they are.
And kids can really help in a marriage some men just melt for the little guys.

If he has not planed on being there tell him he really should it is AMAZING! I have been around animals all my live...on the farm...and have seen many births...so I didn't really think it would be a whole lot different watching my children being born.....WRONG! It was Great! I would not have missed it for the world! And don't be worried that its a boy ....once he sees that little guy he will be OVER Whelmed with the joy! Trust me he will NEVER feel that way again in his life....till Number 2 LOL
Best of luck to both of you! *S*

It doesnt matter what he wanted, he may be upset and disappointed now, but he will change his mind when he sees his beautiful baby boy. Trust me, once he holds that baby for the first time, nothen else is going to matter. Congradulations!

He will mellow out after the baby is born. He may be disappointed now but I am sure he will never regret when that baby is born. Can ya name the baby after him?
