It has gone overboard.
If girls wanna be healthy and look good, than that is great! More power to them!
But soo many girls are not getting nutrients they need, or they are putting harmful substances in their bodies, or throwing up. It is really scary. It has gone a little overboard.

I think the media has gone overboard. All these models are skinny women who weigh so little. Halle Berry, for example, is 5"9 and weighs 110 pounds. She is about 30 pounds underweight.
What media did good was covering that Spanish fashion show where they wouldnt let any super-skinny models model on the catwalk so they wouldnt be a bad influence for girls.

even though i'm a petite girl myself i think that it's definitely a negative influence on ppl. so many women that are beautiful look down upon their selves bc of the media. The media makes it seem that if you're stick skinny then you're nothing.
Look at Marilyn Monroe, she's still a sex icon and she wasn't a stick. men go right along with the media, this is one of the major influences for depression these days... insecurity with the way you look

YES!!! Way OVER BOARD... These girls look ILL!
I was looking at bridal gowns - and all these girls look just sick. I think they must be on drugs and not eating at all. Then they are glamorized by famous designers - and next thing you know all these teen age girls have eating disorders and poor self-image. There does need to be a stop put to it. I mean how far will this go if nobody steps in and says enough is enough...
Look at some of these models to see what I'm saying:

I am beginning to wonder what IS normal anymore...I just gotta say that when girls start looking like boys (and it's not their normal genetic body makeup) to impress the rest of us...and the media....we have gone overboard...

yes i think the media has played a horrible role in teenage anorexia and adults also.. These actors get paid for staying thin that is their job if a movie studio told me a had to lose 20lbs to get a starring role and make 2 million dollars, you bet I would.
I honestly dont think men think that skinny is in, most of them will tell you they like some meat.. some pushen for the cusion..

Actually they're getting better. Modeling agencies are no longer telling girls they have to lose weight, but telling them instead to put on a few pounds before they begin modeling. Our society is beginning to shun stars like Nicole Richie who look unnaturally skinny to the point of unhealthiness.

Yes I think it has. It seems like the media is telling girls that they have to be skinny when they should be telling them that they should just love themselves the way nature made them.

I think its not about being skinny or not, its all about the phobia that made people act with food like a poison or like a terror attack. I saw some famous trainer saying that carrot is one of the BAD vegetables!!! can u believe it? try every thing and relax but with Moderation
