It might be worth inducing your period if it is causing you that much stress, because of course stress is not a good thing at all, and it may make your period even later depending on what your body is doing with itself to make you late – have you perhaps been ill recently, have you recently moved in with another woman, changed birth control, or are you under the age of 18? All these things can contribute, but sometimes it is simply just a late or missed period, we all get that at some point in our lives.
Ideally you should let your body get on with it's own thing, however if you have over two weeks of uterus lining build-up, in other words if it is two weeks after your last period, then you are induce your period without it harming your body, although it may effect your menstrual cycle.
You can try increasing your vitamin C intake as well as your water intake; vitamin C starves your uterus of progesterone which can aid in breaking down the uterus walls to bring on menstruation. Some vitamin C tablets or products have ingredients that prevent this from happening to avoid accidental miscarriage, vitamin C often used to aid home abortions, but if you can get it pure enough it should help bring on your late period.
Sex is another simple way to include menstruation because as well as relaxing you, of course, the uterus contractions can trigger off contractions that bring on menstruation, also sex with a partner unprotected means that the semen gets into your vagina and this is known to soften the cervix, thus making it easier for menstrual material to start flowing.
The most common method of inducing menstruation is parsley as it is a mild emmenagogue; this means that it relaxes the cervix allowing menstrual material to flow. Boil water in a pan then bring down to simmering, don't allow to boil when herbs are put into the water or else they loose potency, take a handful of fresh chopped parsley and allow to steep for half an hour, then strain and add honey to make it taste better – drink every few hours until your period shows up – you can also use tea bags of parsley tea, but fresh is better. You can also put fresh sprigs of parsley into your vagina, changing every few hours. Mugwort, black cohosh, and rue can also be used, if you go to a health food store they should be able to tell you which you can or cannot use – I highly recommend sticking to Parsley tea.
You could also just go to the doctor, there are different medications that you can use to induce menstruation, if not on hormonal birth control already, which can be used, then there are medications such as Provera that works by giving your body progesterone to build up uterus lining and then when you stop taking the pill it starves your uterus of progesterone bringing on menstruation.
As for general stress – SEX – or failing that a nice simple warm bath, which will also help induce menstruation, with some lavender oil to relax, with a good book and a cup of tea or/and bar of chocolate, that seems to help most people relax :o)

even though you know that you are not pregnant, take a pregnancy test, just so your mind will see that there is nothing to worry about. Calm down, the fact that you are stressing could be the very reason that you have not had your period yet. Go out and do something to get you mind off of itm you will be okay. Good luck.

Stress can delay it... kindof an evil little catch-22. You get stressed because it is late, then it is even more late because you are stressed. Eat some chocolate?
