In almost evry stories I read, the Buffalo Sabres are put down unless it is in the Buffalo News. How come?

The Bills lost 4 Super Bowls in a row and the Sabres lost 2 Cup Series. I think it is an unfair "label" that the City of Buffalo has to burden.

It's easy to back a winner, but the true fans support their team no matter what the outcome.

Just imagine how sweet it will be when you can say Super Bowl Champions -- Buffalo Bills. Or... Stanley Cup Champions -- Buffalo Sabres.

EAH, do you remember your Canes almost lost Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals when the Sabres were down 5 of their top players, which included 4 of the top defensemen, and one of the top all around players on the team (and scored twice with plays that should have been whistled dead for Canes' obstruction, like Williams crosschecking 2 Sabres to score allow Brind'amour to score a goal)? Or the near implosion against Edmonton where it looked like the Oilers were going to beat the Canes? That's why your Canes don't get respect, they are a fluke.

As for the Sabres, it's because no one understands they are building themselves for the way the NHL is being played now, and they put them down for it.

Not sure what you're reading? Everything I've read online picks them as one of the top teams in the east and a fav. to go all the way.

As a Hurricanes fan, I find this fact very annoying. The Canes don't seem to be getting much respect as the Champions they are.

If you feel dumped on in the hockey world, try living in Vancouver. At least you guys, our expansion mates in 1970 I believe, had some winning seasons and some really exciting players early on. We had to sit through 25 losing seasons before we got any kind of respect at all and we still don't get much.

thats kinda untrue, at least up here, today i was reading in the local paper (calgary,ab,canada) and they were reviewing all 30 teams and there were only a couple of teams mentioned to win the cup this year and Buffalo was one of them, it wasnt negative at all, more or less said all they really needed to wrok on was their defense ( i think). But im there with you on some level, it seems like whenever i turned on the sports chanel, they covver toronto before anyother team, doesnt matter what sport it is, pisses me off, but hey whatcha gonna do?

Because they're from Buffalo, 'nuff said.
