The Halloween Tree -- An animated film based on a Ray Bradbury story; it tells of some of the origins of Halloween from various cultures.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show -- Not gory, but not scary either, however it is great fun to watch.

The Phantom of the Paradise -- It's a bit of a modern (70s-ish)cross between Phantom of the Opera and Faust.

Psycho -- The original, not the remake. Hitchcock's classic. Though there is a small bit of "blood", the actual attack is only seen in your mind's eye.

Rosemary's Baby -- As far as I can remember, there's no gore in this one. If there is, it is nothing compared to what one would expect from today's horror flicks.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) -- There's a few scenes with a bit of blodd, but not much more do to the fact that Tobe Hooper had almost no budget for the film.

Hocus Pocus -- Not a horror film per se, but a fun and funny Halloween film none the less.

The Witches -- A film based on a Roald Dahl book. It's the story of the evil witches who live among us and their plot to destroy all the children of the world.

Personally, I'm also a big fan of the old classics, like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolman, etc. If you'd like more suggestions, or more info on these listed, feel free to contact me.

Hope this has been some help.

I can't think of too many "Halloween" movies that haven't already been mentioned, but I do know of some decent horror flicks and thrillers that aren't terribly gory.
- The Blair Witch Project
- Beetlejuice
- Bram Stoker's Dracula
- Dark Water [2002] * (I'm a purist and like the original better than the remake)
- Les Diaboliques *
- Donnie Darko
- Edward Scissorhands
- The Eye *
- Gaslight [1944]
- Hush... Hush Sweet Charlotte (some brief blood and a hand-chopping sequence)
- Kairo *
- Memento Mori [1999] (one brief scene of blood when a girl commits suicide) *
- Night of the Living Dead
- The Omen [1976] (some blood, but not overly gory)
- Rebecca
- A Tale of Two Sisters *
- Vertigo
- Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
- The Wicker Man [1973]

- The Halloweentown series
- When Good Ghouls Go Bad
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Hokus Pokus
- Dark Water (not a Halloween film but it's a non-gory horror flick)
- House II: The Second Story
- The Spooky House (you might find this a bit childish though)
- Casper
- Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone has a few Halloween scenes

The Stir of Echoes is a very good movie. The movie is a little like the movie The Six Sense. Also try the Twilight Zone: the movie (1983).

"The Nightmare Before Christmas," by Tim Burton

A great movie that is a thriller (makes you think, kind of gets in your head and gives you goosebumps at the end) is one that's in my TOP 10, it's called, "CUBE." Check it out, especially if you like The Twilight Zone.

Friday The Thirteenth

The Shining

Sixth Sense

The Others

Unbreakable

The Village (by M. Night Shyamahlan)

Angelheart

Devil's Advocate

Memento

Seven ("Se7en")

Well, when me and the gang aren't breaking any bones, or getting the crap beat out of us, we like relaxing to a scary movie. I suggest The Ring, White Noise, or if you like classic I would see House on Haunted Hill with Vincent Price or Hell Night! It's up to you. - Johnny Knoxville
