There is essentially no difference in gameplay between the two. The DVD version is just all of the information loaded onto one DVD instead of four discs.

the difference is in the CD's
DVDs have 4.7GB which means it can hold 5 times more than ur regular CD
a Sims 2 DVD will most likely come in ONE DISC, but requires a DVD-ROM to read.
a Sims 2 CD will come in a 4 DISC set, but can be ezly read by almost all computers

The DVD has special features that give an insider's look at the game and a look behind-the-scenes. There are also interviews with the game's developers. Some of it is pretty funny. Definitely worth a look.

They are both the same. DVD version will be easier to install though.

II'm with every. else the dvd one has one disk can be only be read on dvd compatible drives.
