I'm trying to get into Superman comics but there is so much of it that I'm rather confused by it all. I know that I want the more recent stuff and not Golden or Silver age stuff, but beyond that I'm not sure...

Superman: Peace on Earth by Paul Dini and Alex Ross. Beautiful art. Check this out just for the art it nothing else.

Superman for All Seasons by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale

JLA Vol. 1: New World Order by Grant Morrison. This has one of my favorite Superman scenes ever. You get to see Superman get really pissed off.

Kingdom Come by Mark Waid and Alex Ross. Great story and more spectacular art by Alex Ross.

Green Lantern/Superman: Legend of the Green Flame by Neil Gaiman. One of my personal favorites. My favorite writer. My favorite superhero(Green Lantern) with Superman.

Bizarro Comics Written by Liz Glass, Chris Duffy and others; Art by Kyle Baker, Stephen DeStefano and others. Not really Superman but really cool.

Batman and Superman the series is really good. Also if I read Superman I often Pick up the Action Comics series. Both you should be able to find at a Bookstore or Comic Shop. Don't have a Comic shop in your area then best to get a Subscription off of www.DCcomics.com .

Check out the web site 'Superman through the ages'. They have stories going back to the earliest days, but they are indexed so you can easily select stories from the early/middle/late 70's, 80's, 90's or more recent.

They also have the novels Miracle Monday and Last Son of Krypton on line. There is great fanfic and never-before-published stories. I think that you will enjoy it.

I don't read a lot of Superman comics but I really liked the one I just read. It is called Superman/Batman by Jeph Loeb with art by Michael Turner. It was the one with Supergirl. That's all. :D

there's a good book called "Superman in the '60's". I think that was a good era for the man of steel. The stories are fun, light, entertainment with good art. There are other books in the series for other decades. Worth checking out.

Try the one by Jim Lee. it was a great read. It had loads of interesting stuff. Then go read Lee's take on Batman in Hush.
