If it is a heat pressed number, often you can reapply it. Put a cloth over the jersey and the number and use an iron at 350 degrees for a few seconds.
If it is a sew-on number, you can simply resew it on.
If it is a printed number and it wears off, it would need to be redone.

put the number in place, get some grease proof paper and place it over the number and the jersey, and iron it with a verry hot iron.
it works somtimes because the adhesive is still there

Go to a sporting goods store or to a place where they sew stuff. Maybe get opinions fr both of those places. Do you still have the # ? Maybe you'd need to get re-order the same # where the jersey came fr or something like that... Good luck on getting your # back on !!! :)

There is a fabric adhesive you can purchase at Joanne Fabrics. I have used it with very good results.

Super glue gel will work but might melt nylon.

Fusible interfacing will work but launder inside out from now on.
