all you do is this
1/7m=9
then you multiply 7 on both sides so it looks like this
7(1/7)m=9(7)
Then you get m=63
Oh yeah, the way you wrote it is correct.

Multiply each side by 7. This makes the 1/7 become 7/7 which is equal to ONE. 7/7m = 1m = m
On the other side you have 9 x 7 this equals 63.
Therefore 1/7m = 9 works out like this: 7(1/7m) = 7(9) and finally m = 63.
See how easy that was?

1/7m = 9
Multiply both sides by 7 to get rid of the fraction.
7(1/7m) = 9(7)
m = 63

ACTUALLY 63 is the wrong answer for m....for the way u wrote ur equation
1/7m=9 is the same as
1/(7m)=9
but i think u mean
(1/7)m=9
to solve it like (1/7)m=9, first get rid of the fraction...
(1/7)m=9 MULTIPLY BOTH SIDE BY 7
(7)(1/7)(m)=9(7)
m=9(7)
m=63

you divide 9 by 1/7, to do that change 9 to 9/1 and multiply by the inverse, which would be 9/1*7/1. then you simply multiply across giving you 63/1, which is equal to 63

Start by multiplying both sides of equation by 7/1(reciprocal of 1/7).
This equals 1m=9(7/1=7).
m=9x7
m=63

I'm in 8th...Here is how OUR old math teacher taught us to think of it....draw a line going down the = sign... Then divide 1/7 by 1/7 by crossing them out. Then divide 9 by 1/7...( do it on ur calculator) Then write "x" = _
