Totally. When they call the other person the unkind name i think they are afraid that thats what other people see them as and maybe they're afraid that maybe they might become like that. They may feel like that if they tease or bully they might not become like that. Also people who bully have some serius issues they need to work out w/ themselves too.

In this small world, people are very selfish. They can hardly sight the other person grow or do good in their life.
The world is such that it will pin point only the bad characteristics you might possess and this small mistake will end up being a big rumour.
No one would be bold enough to come and tell you what are you good at.
Just a small advice:
Don't try to focus on the qualities you lack, rather concentrate on the ones you are good at.

I haven't noticed that in social situations, but in politics it's almost certainly true.

Notice how when one party accuses the other of something it's usually something they are already guilty of perpetrating. This way they get the jump on them and feel safe that they can't be accused of the same thing when they are actually guilty of it.

It's a great tactic of pure dishonesty.

Sometimes, I think.... like, I guess if a person was really secure they wouldn't have to call someone names to boost their own self esteem or whatever.... but Iike, when you see someone do something really weird it's kind of hard to resist making fun of them... and I don't think that has to do with seeing something bad in yourself... But what you're talking about is sometimes true, like if someone is making fun of another person for doing something that they themselves do, they might be doing it and be really thankful that no one is teasing them about it... meh.
