I was a first time birth control user and in my first month I took two weeks of birth control and lost the pack. The third week (the first week of not taking pills) I had very light bleeding only in the mornings. If that was a period, I should have started my period today and have not. I don't know that taking only two weeks of birth control could have thrown off my cycle that much. but if the bleeding was not a period, is there a possibility i ovulated and got pregnant, we've had unprotected sex quite a bit since, but I didn't think I ovulated because I never had a period. If the bleeding was a period, I'm afraid I might be pregnant. Are there signs of ovulation. I'm worried because I always have pms symptoms and have had none yet. Pregnant or probably not?

There are some signs of ovulation. The most obvious sign is your vaginal discharge. When you are at your most fertile, it can be kinda sticky, like an egg white. Tmi, I know, but you asked..

The bleeding you had the third week is called "withdrawl" bleeding--when you take birth control you don't have regular periods, just withdrawl bleeds. If you did not continue on the pills after the bleeding then there is a very very good chance you ovulated and having unprotected intercourse puts you at risk for pregnancy. One other thing about your post--you said you don't think you ovulated because you didn't have a period, it doesn't work that way. Ovulation is what triggers the next period. Women can go for years without a period then all of the sudden ovulate and get a period 2 weeks later. Some of the symptoms of ovulation are increased amounts of egg-white quailty cervical mucus, pain around the ovaries, headache, and acne break-outs.

Usually when you start bcp the doctor tells you not to have unprotected sex until you start your second pack to make sure the pill is in your system it also says it in the pamphlet that comes with it! You might be pregnant, but you might not!!! Taking two weeks of pills only can mess up your period, go back to your doctor and explain what happened.

the fact that you stopped taking your pills is what caused the bleeding and since you didn't take them while you were bleeding to get back on track, it is very possible that you ovulated. meaning that now you could be pregnant. good luck.

I agree. I would buy a HPT or see my Doctor for a blood test to
check for HcG.

Good luck.
