To be honest I hate sports....and therefore I know nothing about sports and I'm not very good at playing sports. During phy ed class if we're playing a sport (even kickball) I can't stay focused. I can't keep track of where everyone is, and what everyone is doing and what I'm supposed to be doing and when.. Its all just so confusing to me and I can't keep track and this causes my mind to wander. Last year I had trouble because even if I tried to stay focused, I couldn't. Not many people in my class liked me because of this. Everyone thought I just wasn't trying. It's kind of like when you try to fall asleep, it makes it even harder....and when I try to stay focused it makes it even harder. ANy ideas that might help me do better in this class?

It sounds as if you make it into such a big deal that you panic and spend more time worrying about your performance than concentrating on the actual class.

What you need to do is perhaps find a sport, away from class, that you are good at and/or enjoy. It might be a team sport or even something like swimming, running or step aerobics. Join an after-school class and gain confidence in your own abilities then you won't doubt yourself so much.

You've obviously created a lot of anxiety for yourself when it comes to sport. The key is to relax. We can't be good at everything!

You need to find something that you are good at and learn from that. How do you focus on that? Just use the same principles.

I would suggest using breathing techniques to try and help you find a rhythm. Just Breathe, focus and move to the rhythm.

Hope this helps you some :-)
