I have very gorgeous but very old hardwood floors. The problem is there are tiny gaps between each piece of wood. These gaps are about 2 millimeters wide but big enough for dirt and crumbs to get in. Is there a product or technique I can use to fill in the gaps. I really want to keep these floors because other than the gaps, they are perfect. Thanks.

clean floor and cracks good, go over entire floor with a good polyurethene wood finish, this will fill and seal the cracks plus give it a good shine and a longer life span

Lazykins has a good answer for a quick fix but short life. You can also do with a contrasting wood color. Cut a grove between each board and fill with a slice of wood. Lots of work, but a great look.

I saw this on an old home show. They took twine slightly thicker than the crack and colored it to match the floor with some stain. Then they shoved it between the cracks with a plastic putty knife. I was quite impressed.

prep it for refinishing. You can get woodfiller but the best bet is to hire these floors done by someone with longterm experience.
