easy.
There are many options but the simpleist is to buy an external usb enclosure for about 40 bucks and install it in there.

Absolutely. But I hope you're good with hardware. You'll probably have to change the jumper setting and you'll need to buy an external HD enclosure to wire the drive to your USB/Firewire port. Also, if this is a drive that boots to your operating system, things get more complicated. Used hard drives are so cheap on ebay, I bought a used 150gb and external enclosure for under $100, shipping included.

Yes, of course whit a :2.5 / 3.5 / 5.25 External Enclosure these product turn internal hard disc drives into external, mobile ones for convenience and safety! Almost all mobile racks come with a tray already. Additional trays for some models can be purchased separately.

Not safe for hard drive unless the products that you are buying are trusted by buyer. If the person buy and try it and it didn't effect their hard drive then you should do the samething.
I bought a IDE to USB cable for my internal harddrive. After doing that, the hard drive got fried and that left me couple of week without hard drive.

Yes you can. You can purchase a holder/power supply for the internal drive and use it as an external drive. See the sites linked below.

Yes, but you will have too buy an external case for it. And make sure you that case is IDE to USP. If you have a store call Fry's around you, thats the best place to go.
