about a year ago i stumbled across a letter to deay abbey. Oh, and no, I don't smoke ~ did maybe 40 years ago ~ but gave it up for lent? ~~~LOL

anywaybaCK TO THIS letter ... This older man (in his 70's, i believe) wrote in that he and his wife, married for over 50 some years) only had intimate relations about once a month anymore due to health problems, but when they did, they liked to smoke a joint before hand. He explained that it relaxed them both, made their aches and pains a little less noticeable and allowed them to freely communicate ~~ if you know what i mean.

I was curious as to what Abbey's response would be and was somewhat surprised. She basically remined all readers that this is illegal, but then said, if it feels good, you're doing it in the privacy of your own home, not selling, do it and kudos for keeping the romance going after so long.

Unfortunately smoking marijuana is illegal; however, it does not lead to hard drugs ~~~ people lead to harder drugs. I would rather see you smoke than take pills. Just my personal opinion.

The government would do well to look at legallizing it and making alcohol illegal. Just think of all the taxes they could get. Look at taxes they levy on gas and cigarettes. Anyway, will get off my soap box.

Were I in your shoes and it made me feel better, I would not go around broadcasting it but would continue to do what makes the injury feel better. Withdrawal from smoking grass takes the average person 1-2 days AT MOST - pills and other things??? not so easy. Good luck and do what you think is best for you. No one else here has to live with your pain.

hi there, my husband used to drink, not too much, but he was terrible when he got drunk, he would argue with his own shadow, i introduced him to cannabis, now he smokes it every day, when he has none he can do without hes not too addicted to it but he is a lot calmer on cannabis than alcohol, i only smoke it every blue moon as i get the munchies, and fall asleep off it, lol....i say they should legalize it as so many people find it relaxing and it eases pain, when i have trouble sleeping, i will have half a joint, and you don't see me until the next morning waking up lovely and refreshed, if you and those around you know that the weed is working for you then i say go for it..good luck
i hope this helps
Yvonne

Only those with both a state and federally approved prescription should be smoking pot. Oh, and you can't get a legal prescription for it. If California says yes, the federal government says no. So don't put it out here if you smoke. You are admitting to a crime and can be prosecuted.

Marijuana has a different effect on different individuals, drug idiosyncrasy may cause a few people to feel sleepy, drowsy, hungry, numb, anxious, panicky, or have no effect at all. People use it for whatever effect it creates on their individual metabolism. The benefits are individualized and possibly do not outweigh the fact that it is an illicit drug that, like many other drugs, can impair your capacity to function
rationally. My age is inconsequential since I only use prescription drugs, and this is not one of them.
My insight comes from reading, observing, and studying psychotropic drugs for about 40 years.

i do. i do it because i like the way it tases and the way it makes me feel. i'm actually closer to may parents, family, and friends now, and am doing better in school believe it or not. its not very addictive, and only affects your memory when your on it, not perminantly. i have a bar in my back from when i broke it (and my knee) a few years ago and the pot helps the pain alot. i am 17 and have been smoking for about 2 years and have a 3.8 GPA.

Try grinding it up adding 2.5 cups of water a cube of butter letting it boil for 20 min and cool. Smells like butter tastes like butter but takes the arthritic pains away. I am 36

yes. it relaxes you. i don't see why it's illegal. in fact, it made me very 'healthy' too. lol all i did was sit and raid the kitchen. i never thought about going out and committing any crimes. i was too stoned to do that. lol but it sounds like you should either keep smoking it or get a good muscle relaxer.

It's not unheard of for patients to use marijuana. I know a few people who have a prescription for it.
