My family and I are all swimmers and this is a great organic cure.
Get some oil called Tea tree oil, you can find it in health product stores and other various types of locals like that. Take 1 or 2 drops of tea tree oil and then add 5-6 drops olive oil ( in a tablespoon, or teaspoon)and mix with a toothpick or fork prong etc. Then soak a Q-Tip in the mixture and coat the infected ear heavily (have the child lay down with that ear up so it seeps down in). Then put cotton in the ear to keep it in there. Unfortunately I didn't discover this until I was in my 20's after dozens of severe infections. Tea-Tree oil is very antiseptic and slowly seeps into the ear and kills the infection fast. It also has a warming effect that helps to comfort the ear. Many of my friends who have kids have thanked me for this remedy and with my kids in swimming I end up to use this method regularly. It has saved us 100's of $s in doctor visits and works better than any medicine you can buy. Remember to dilute it with olive oil or canola oil, otherwise the warmth it provides is too strong. Uncomfortably so. Also you can use it preventatively. I swear by this method and if you try it you will too.

Sounds a bit more like a neurological inflamation, rather than an ear infection... an ear infection stays painful pretty constantly.. Does the pain feel within the ear or around the ear?

you should use and make your individual 'garlic' oil. favor a small glass jar, some lite olive oil or canola oil. Pour about a million/4 cup into jar, take a pair cloves of garlic and reduce in 1/2. Drop into jar. cover with lid. After about an hour the a number of oil may have taken on the garlic and that's healing homes. you could positioned a pair drops of the oil into the ear and get a huge piece of cotton to position in ear briefly. After a minimum of 6 hours take each and every of the garlic out of jar and throw away garlic. keep oil faraway from elementary and coated with lid. Can use drops some cases in preserving with day. And definite, it is going to scent like garlic! :o) might want to be sensible can also get some immune 'herbs' at well being nutrition keep - I make up a formula with Echinacea, Garlic, Ginseng, Usnea, Cats Claw, Pau d Arco - and use for infections - take it through mouth each and every hour - seem for some thing similar in a save close to you. and evidently do not hesitate to examine with your physician's place of work again, stupid to stroll round in soreness!

When I have an ear infection I use an herbal supplement called
Mullein flower ear oil or Mullein Garlic ear oil. I warm it and place it in my ear. You can obtain them from a good health food store.
Make sure you let them know you are experiencing an ear ache and they will give you exactly what you need. Once you put the oil in your ear you need to put a little cotton in to keep the ail inside.
Good Luck

Peroxide will help to make the ear feel a little better. My doctor actually recommended it to me to help with pain. You just use a cotton swab (que-tip) and put some peroxide on it then gently put it in your ear. Your mom will probably hear some crinkling but it should make it feel a little better.

I would suggest ibuprofen (IE: Motrin and the like). Also, tell her to hold her nose and swallow hard just in case it may be fluid. The fluid will drain down into the throat.
