i was recently worrying over some actions of mine. I was basically in a state of paranoia where I kept attributing everything to my actions. I started experiencing all these symptoms, which freaked me out even more. The latest was flu like symptoms when i was going to bed: chills, drop in temperature, sweats, hotflashes, dry throat, and stuffy nose.

Prolonged stress can have a significant weakening effect on the body's immune system, making it more difficult to fight off infection. Prolonged stress can also have it's own physical symptoms in some people, often feeling similar to that of the flu. If however, you did get some sort of infectious disease, it could be a variety of things. If your symptoms don't alleviate soon, I'd recommend a visit to the doctor. You don't have to tell him/her any thing about why you were stressed, just that you feel sick and let them take it from there.

Feel better!

The way you think has a tendency to cause chemical changes in the brain, which in turn have an effect on other parts of the body. As you are finding out (the hard way), how you think does have some consequences. Worriers are often considered to be the hypochondriacs.. but too often those symptoms are real and just over looked or misdiagnosed.

Stress tends to depress the body's immune system. Remember, not every chill or stuffy nose is the flu. If you're worried, talk to your doctor.
