I love Historical Romance books. And, I would hate to see this genera disappear.

I don't think it is in any danger. I recently read a great one, "The Witch of Cologne" by Tobsha Learner. If they keep coming out as good as this was, there is no risk.

I don't think they will disappear anytime soon. Hardcore historians get so bent out of shape when historical fiction is written, but historical romance is such a popular category, and there are some fantastic authors out there that keep the subgenre real.

I agree there as been Historical Romance novels(plays) written through-out history.

I hope not.Historical romance is one of my favorite generes and always has been,I like several of the paranormal romances,but those seem to run out of steam and end up being silly and overdone sometimes.I never really cared for contemporary that genre just didn't interest me as much.

I seriously doubt it. If you look at the romantic bk section in any larger bkstore, you'll see that they are still turning them out. Personally, I love them. I also read heavy duty serious bks too.

I highly doubt that a genre would just stop.... I think histroical romance will always be around.
