Isn't discrimination the withdrawal of privileges from certain groups? That sure sounds like discrimination against white people to me. Would it not make much more sense to base it upon economic groups than racial groups? I still wouldn't like that but at least it would make more sense than giving handouts to minorities.

Yes, but I would also like to address whether affirmative action actually does more harm than good for the black community.

I feel affirmative action encourages MORE bigotry against blacks.
1. It creates the image that blacks need special help, that standards need to be lowered in order for blacks to succeed. How can that attitude be viewed as anything but insulting!
2. It casts doubt as to wheter the person you are dealing with got the job because he was the best, or just because he just had the right skin shade.
3. It gives whites an excuse to why blacks have all the breaks & why they need to help "their own people" instead of being equal.

Every time I hear someone say they know someone who didn't get a certain job because they hadn't met thier "quota" of Blacks, I cringe, knowing this just perpetuates more bigotry. It doesn't matter if it's the truth or just a loser's excuse for not getting a job. If people believe it as the truth, the effect is the same.

It does not difficulty me if it replaced into bumped off in spite of the undeniable fact that it would have a unfavorable result on society as an entire. I won't clarify, this is rather obtrusive what could ensue to those that're no longer renowned by using this society. when I see greater equality occurring in the activity industry i will include the disintegration of Affirmative action. until then i will savor the way it advantages people who're no longer of the majority. On a yet another word, I hate this is permitting outcomes. no you may actually include Affirmative action yet use it as a decisive gadget. It does discriminate. it is this is use. this isn't any longer meant to earnings the majority and why could it.

I agree I completely against giving money and special privileged to others. Kinda of like that old slave issue I mean giving handout to another group, country that never had any rights to it. Talk about discrimination.

Yes, affirmative action is reverse discrimination. It should never have existed. It causes bad feelings, and it certainly should. I suppose some Africans and Lunatic Left Europeans will crucify you for this question. Who cares?
