everybody think I am a litlle too big for only 4 1/2 months pregnant, I already had an early u/s and showed only 1 baby, I do have a doppler at home and when I listen to the heart beat sometimes I hear what it seems to me some sort of echo. Could it be twins? it runs in my family.

For those who think I am fat cow, that is not the case, I am not skinny in bones but I am not fat either and my body looks almost like it did before the pregnancy, MY BELLY is the only thing that has grown a lot, and no, I am not abusing my cravings like someone suggested I did, I don't even have any cravings (yet).

I have this same problem! I am about 12 weeks and I went for a check up yesterday. The nurse at the health department told me I look like I am about 5 or 6 months pregnant! I was so mad! I had an u/s at 8 weeks and my doctor told me I was coming right along. I haven't gained that much weight only 2 pounds so it's not that. However I have had 3 other children besides this one so that's one of the reasons behind it. I know with my first child I got huge fast but that was my own fault. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I ate everything in sight. By the end I was 64 pounds heavier and my baby only weighed in at 7 1/2. So my advise to you is...If you have had more children don't worry and if you haven't...well just make sure you are not gaining to much weight. Check out the web site webmd.com though. They have lots of advice and information that could prove helpful.

I am 19 weeks and I am huge. This is my third child and I had some extra weight from my last pregnancy so I expected to show earlier than with the others. I have also had larger than average babies so that could also be a reason why I get so big. I have already had an ultrasound and there was only one baby, I'm just HUGE this time. Some women show faster and/or show bigger than others. If twins run in the family on your mothers side then you do have a higher possibility of twins but that would most likely have been caught by the doctor at this point especially since you have already had an ultrasound. You should be scheduled for an ultrasound at your next appointment so then you will know for sure.

Everyone shows differently and gains a different amount of weight, as long as your doctor says you are healthy I wouldn't worry.

Congrats on the pregnancy!

Oh don't worry you are just getting big to get big, I had a huge belly when I was 4 months. I think it had a lot to do with the fact that when I got pregnant I was 115 and 5'2 so I was a tiny thing. Everyone would constantly ask if I had twins in there but nope just ended up with a big boy 8lbs 10oz So don't worry too much about it Im sure your doing everything right you might just have a big baby.

There is a possibility that it might be twins if it runs in your family. You should have a sonogram and they should be able to tell you exactly how many babies you are having. Some women tend to have real big bellies when they are pregnant, that happens sometimes. I thought my baby would be very big because my belly was huge, but my baby weighted less than six pounds at birth. They told me that the only reason my belly was so big was because I'm short. Your height has something to do with it.
Anyways congratulations for the baby and good luck to you!!

Well it is possible one could be hiding behind the other but there would be 2 heartbeats when the Doctor listens with the Doppler.I was pregnant with twins this time around and I miscarried. When they first did the ultrasound I was only 7 weeks but the fetus was behind the other baby which is doing fine. With my daughter I was huge , well was bigger than what I was with my son.Sometimes some women are bigger. All our body's are different.Just enjoy being pregnant.Good Luck!

You could have a lot of bloating. I think at 4.5 months you'd see a twin in there so I doubt that's it. Every women is different and carry different. With my first pregnancy I didn't even show till I was about 6.5 months pregnant. With this pregnancy I've pretty much shown the whole time and I'm a lot bigger then I thought I should be too. Best of luck

Nobody can tell that from sure, without a professional opinion saying that it is possible.

I do recommend that you ask again and/or possible to visit your doctor for an ultrasound (this are really effective for that matter). If you have twins the ultrasound would immediately show 2 hearts beating...

If you have Twins in your family it is possible, but stomach size is not a relevant fact to affirm so.

It definitely could be. If you are 4 1/2 months it could be near time to have another ultrasound, especially if you look like you are nearing the end. Talk to your Gyn, and let them know that multi-births run in your family. Also try to poke around before the next ultrasound to get the baby moving ang if there is two, hopefully you will be able to see.

Its very possible to have twins, I wouldn't say your having a big baby though, the baby itsn't that big yet. But you could have a lot of water weight one of my friends was HUGE I mean like a house and she just had a ton of water and her and the baby were fine. Don't worry everything will be fine Just keep glowing like the pregnant beauty you are right now.
