You can get one for $20. It is called the iTrip and is by Griffin. It plugs into the top of your iPod and broadcasts the song that you are playing to the FM radio station 87.9 for a small radius. This will work for your car- I own it and use it in mine, and there is no hissing whatsoever. The audio is great quality. This item is available for purchase at Target stores. You can buy online or find a store near you at www.target.com.

It's called an FM Tuner and you are looking around $30-$100 depending on how nice it is. It plugs into the Ipod and sends a signal through your FM tuner.
None of them work very well. I've had 3 and there is also a hiss or a buzz through the system. I broke down and bought a CD player that had an Aux Jack on the front for input. That stereo was $129 at Best Buy and it made a world of difference.
You can get them pretty much anywhere

i bought this item, DLO TransDock micro, in April 17, 2006 from Amazon.com and it works really well the sound is clear though it depends on the quality of the mp3 being played on the ipod and the signal is strong enough to be picked up in my friend's car, which was surprising and cool.

It plays any iPod's music over any car stereo. The TransDock micro is the most flexible, cost-effective car solution for the iPod you can buy. The TransDock micro broadcasts the iPod's music to any FM radio frequency from 88.1 to 107.9 while keeping it charged. The DLO TransDock micro also gives you the choice of connecting to your car stereo with a cassette adapter or mini plug cable with its auxiliary line output.
