Wish I had a penny for every time I've seen this question posted on here, I'd be a very rich man indeed. You watch, all the smart-ar*es will give you that ridiculous "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" answer, some daft number?

Hmm. I really like your question. Im an emotional person. More on the inside then out. I love to write, storys (short and long), poems, songs. And recently i wrote about the meaning of life. And it really, makes me wonder.. so heres my opinion :some people are put here(on earth) to die for others. Some to be died for. And some to help people along the way. Some for both, or all three. But within every person is a mystery. And no one, but you can solve it.

I've recently have been working to solve this mystery i behold, but am reluctant to find the answer.

The meaning of my life is to be happy and contented, and to find that meaning through helping other's, and in treating other's as I would wish to be treated.

raine, above, really has it sussed.

TJ Miller, below, is well on the right lines, too.

Some people would say 42, but I say that (this is my opinion, don't shoot me for it) life was a mistake, but a good mistake, one that you would do over if you had the chance, and since it was a mistake it is whatever the ones who live it think it is. The meaning of my life is explore, help, develop, nurture, learn, and teach. there is no set meaning to life, it is what you want it to be.

Mine is to improve the people around me, and leave the world a better place for me having existed. One act can reverberate through history and grant the doer immortality in a way...

Life is what you make it. You and only you can give meaning to your life. No one else on earth can give it meaning. My life is all about helping others. I coach Special Olympics, volunteer with my church youth group, work with children who have behavioral problems, and work as a personal trainer. All of these things give meaning to my life - a purpose.

My Meaning of life is not some generic: be good to people, treat them with respect and live life to the fullest. However, it does include all those things and more. But the specific thing that is the meaning of my life is to live for God and to obey and love Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength. And to fulfill the purpose he has for my life which is to become a nurse so that I can do medical missions all over the world.
