Ok first of all a D&C done at the Doctors office is for women who have miscarried and there body hasn't naturally gotten rid of the fetus. Then there's the women who have a tubal pregnancy who dont really get a choice. They cant carry a baby in there tube or they will die. Then theres women carring a fetus that has a serious illness and nothing can be done.

The reason why it's illegal to have abortions at that stage, is because at that stage, the baby can feel pain, but, there are certain circumstances where the mother has no choice. A) it might be life threatenting, B) They has a partial miscarriage (there's still parts of the baby inside), C)The baby could be in the fallopian tubes, which will kill the mother if they leave it in there, and many other reasons.

I think you are asking why abortion is illegal after the first trimester? It's because during the first trimester, you are carrying an unformed fetus. for the first several weeks it is just a blob of cells. However, by the time you enter the second trimester, you are actually carrying a real baby with a heartbeat, organs, a face, fingers, a real and acutal human being. so then it is considered "murder". I personally think you should be able to do it if you want to; it's your body and your responsibility, after all, but that is the reason and the way that it is. hope that helps....

D&C is not considered an abortion. It is the removal of left over miscarrige items that didn't come out, tubal pregnancies and a baby that is not developed.

Maybe they should have practiced safe sex and they wouldn't be in this predicament.
