desktop icons, how do i make them smaller?

i have too many icons on my screen and need to make them smaller can anyone tell me how to do it?

You have a couple of options, depending on whether you can do them or not. The are all from the 'Display Properties' box. This can be opened by either of these ways:
1. Through the control panel as another answerer has said.
2. Right clicking on the desktop and selecting 'Properties'.

The options are
1. Go to the 'Appearances' tab and press the 'Effects...' button. Uncheck 'Use large icons', click 'Ok', then 'Ok' again.
2. Go to the 'Settings' tab, and press the 'Advanced' button. You should see an area to change the DPI setting. Change this to 'Normal', or the smallest you can. Click 'Ok', then 'Ok' again.
3. Go to the 'Settings' tab, and change the size or resolution of the screen to a bigger size.

Go to "Control Panel", "Display". Click on "Appearance", click "item", scroll down until you will see "Icon". Click on Icon and change font size.
