There is so much violence on TV and movies, drug and gang violence...it's provoking people to go out and shoot innocent people for no reason. The violence on TV and in movies make people think there's nothing wrong with shooting up neighborhoods or schools. But it's wrong, inhumane, and tragic. TV used to bring people so much joy; now it's only showing them that violence is the answer to all their problems. Violence will only get you or other people killed, and/or jail time. Violence is not the answer. Only talking it out with a trusted adult and getting help you need will solve your problem.
People also get into fights, or a drug deal goes sour, and it ends in violent retalation.
Bullying is also a major factor. The cause of the devastating Columbine shootings in 1999 was bullying and harassment. Klebold and Harris claimed they were being bullied day after day and wanted to avenge their anger. Sadly, the boys chose a more violent path that lead them to murder and suicide, instead of discussing the issue with a guidance counselor or teacher.
Bullying ocurrs in every school, private or public, across America. If an adult doesn't intervene, it can escalate into something more dangerous--like a school shooting. The victim gets so angered and annoyed by the bullying that he/she decides to end it, in the most cruel and awful way possible.
The only way we can prevent more school shootings is if we minimize the violence on television and in movies, and crack down on bullying, drugs, and gang violence. Tougher and more police patrol on the streets and in schools would be good as well. If we can do that, we will save innocent lives from a bullet.

First of all not all teenagers a stpiud and sucidle. The teens that do school vilence proumbly have a bad home life (that is not a exusee for what they did mind you) are the most recent attack was not even done by a teen. It was dont my a man, how was evidently molsted as a child I think and I know for sure that He molsted 2 other girls in the faimly, his dauther died 20 min. after birth (again known of this resons justify what he did, there just resons why he might of done it) this man was full of hate, and I belive he wanted other people to go through pain like he has. In the infamous Colibin (sp?) shootings, the shooters shoot those that were diffrent from them (One of the shooters asked a girl if she belived in God and when she repleyed yes, he shot her) they also shoot people that bullied them. I think that they kill them selves because the don't want to have to go to prison or they just wanted to die, and they want to bring people down with them. A small percentege of shcool shootings are done my crazy people. Most are done because of they are full of hate and suffered from years of abuse. We can all help to stop this, and we can also keep guns away from kids. I read somewere that a 8 year old shoot another 8 year old. He found that gun on a table in his house. So please don't judge teenagers, we are going through some rough times and mabey you can be nice and understaning, all you have to do is give us a smile or hold the door open. I beg of you, do not be judge use, some teens are bad but not all.

Kids have no more respect for life, themselves and others and that is because they (the government) took the discipline and religion out of schools and now they are wondering why the kids have gone coo coo. Plus the parents are working so much to try to provide all of these extra things that they don't need that they are not paying attention to their kids actions and issues. I think it also has to do with the violence on TV, music and the video games. Kids have no positive outlets anymore. And what's sad is its only going to get worse.

I'm sorry to say this, but teens are stupid, big-headed animals with too much stress and anger, and they just don't know how to take it out. Plus, teens HATE their administrators, and school shootings make the shooter feel as if their grudges are fulfilled. Also, teens are able to get hold of guns more easily because of careless parents. I mean, seriously, what kind of parent lets an unstable teenager have a gun? I understand hunting, but still.....I guess it depends on the kid.

Find the answer to "Why on earth do a huge number of Americans keep guns in their family homes?" first.
I really find this hard to understand and when I saw "Bowling for Columbine" by Michael Moore I was even more shocked by the gun culture in America. In fact, the comedy aspect of the film aside, it's quite terrifying.
