please give me an easy, effective way to mend the broken place so he does not see. the sofas are brand new!!! i moved it and it hit a corner and tore.

In the long run honesty is always best. I would suggest that you call the place you bought it from for tips on how to fix it with the least amount of showing damage.

It isn't your fault and he's not your father (which means he can't give you a beating for your mistakes). Just be honest with him about the mistake. There isn't anyway for you to fix a broken chunk of leather so you'll need to call the company and since it's new hopefully you have those guarantees.
