The bump could just be the scar tissue, although I would be more inclined to think that they are infected as you have used other earrings so soon. Try using special metho which you can get from the chemist/pharmacy. It will clear up any infection, and prevent a new one. Make sure you wipe your earrings with it too, it will sanitise them.
Good luck!
Happy Birthday!

Alright first so you know MANY people have problems with gold and silver especially with a new piercing. Some people also have a problem with surgical steel. You can switch to titanium for now (which will cost about $20 for plain studs) The great thing about titanium is that it is lighter then the other metals and it's an element so it has no other medals in it that people often find they are irritated by. If you don't see them on a rack ask the person who does piercings at Claires, Hot Topic, or Spencer's Gifts. They have titanium studs for piercings. Second be careful the earrings you by, most at accessory store are really cheap and made from shotty medal (even some that say the are surgical steel will have a cheap back and cheap mount for any stone in them).
Don't use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen Peroxide either. Both can extremely irritate skin. Use mild soap in the shower (face soap works well as well as Dial gold hand soap because it rinses away with no residue). Use either your ear care solution you should have got when your pierced your ears or Bactine to clean once or twice a day.
If you switch your earrings out for your birthday put in better suited earrings as soon after as you can.

buy some perioxide and put that on the ears , secondly put the other earrings in alcohol.ask the clerk at claires what you need to do . but keep the earring that you have for the duration of the process wear them . start buying the real earrings , because fake gold and silver will break you out.i guess let the ears breathe for a minute buy some real gold earrings and sleep with them in your ear after infection wears off, the put the new real gold earrings or silver in and keep them in 24/7.

Clean your ears and the earring with alcohol at least 4 times a day. DON'T PUT IN FAKE EARRINGS. I got mines pierced and changed it after 3 days you just have to be very careful with cleaning it all the time. Leave the reals ones in until your birthday (im a october baby too) and you''ll be good to go. Carry alcohol and cotton balls in a little ziplock bag with you.

Put some neosporin without an earring for a day. After a day, keep the neosporin, but put the earring back in. If it keeps up after a week, call your doctor.
