Okay, supposedly I got this one wrong on a test:
0.0123 g = ___________ pg
(pg is picograms, which is 10^-12 grams).

I said it was 1.23 x 10^-10. Isn't my answer correct?
THANKS

OK, yeah. So my answer was wrong?
What IS the right answer? (And how did you get it?)

No. Your decimal needs to go the other way.

If it's 0.0123 g, it's 12 decimal places to the right if going down in the scale.

1.23 x 10^10 pg

Now, take that value and look again at what pico means, it means go left 12 decimal places to get to gram.

0.0123 g ( 1 pg / 10^-12 g)=
1.23 x 10^10pg

Think logically.....there are 10^12 picograms for every gram
so the answer should be a pretty big number.

To make sure u never make mistakes while converting....write units into ur equations and cancel them out like what i did in my equation
i divided 0.0123 g by 10^ -12 g.....because g is in the numerator as well as the denominator, i can cancel them out and im left with pg.

i don't think so..i think you went backwards in your decimal places there for making your answer a larger quantity than it was supposed to be....i mean isn't pg a smaller amount than g

picogram, an SI unit of mass (10-12 gram)

Base Unit Kilogram
Multiple of Base 10-3 = g
