I believe Mr. Foley is so full of it . Up until the news of his e-mails broke, he continued speaking out on issues and voting to enact laws. Because the news broke, all of a sudden he is now gay, was molested by a clergyman and is an alcoholic. What a crock. Stand up and admit it. Like any politician enacting laws, voting to send our sons and daughters to battlegrounds, he had an obligation to his constituents to be honest and truth-full. Not to mention his country. I have no problem with a gay elected official. I have no problem with anyone that had been abused. However, I have a big problem with liars and without the leaked e-mails, he would have continued with his charade. What a farce. The worst part of all this was the knowledge that top REPUBLICANS knew almost a year ago. How do they expect anyone to believe one more word out of their traps? Must be the new American way, deny, deny, deny, then enter re-hab. The Democrats are no better so save me the sanctimonious Neo-Con/Liberal nonsense. I don't care which party a liar and a fraud is from. And everyone that protected him at the expense of the page should be forced to resign as well.

I think the Democrats should go back and look at what President Clinton did while he was in the White House with "that woman," Monica Lewinsky! Every few years one party or the other has a sex scandal or a drug/alcohol scandal or a bribery scandal or some other scandal. The politicians and the media play it for all it's worth, and then some. Foley should be kicked out. And if he sexually molested a minor, he should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Alcohol is no excuse. As a voter, I am sick and tired of politics as usual.

The moral majority as they self righteoously call themselves doesn't look so moral after all. They hid this for years.
If the Democrats did that it would be an out rage of righteous indignation. But since they are controlled by the Rich Religous organizations it is ok. They can do anything they want but then say well we don't like abortions. Was there any less abortions under a Republican congress and a Republican President?
Read the stastics; There was more. Because there was more poor people as they took from the poor and gave to the rich.
They only wanted to keep alert to pedofiles so they would keep from getting caught. Everyone knew they were gay.

The "Rove October Surprise" comment is right on.
The GOP knows it needs something to distract from its failures in Iraq and at home. Sex scandals sell. And people are so dumb and gullible, that whereas they blamed every Democrat for Clinton and Monica, they will blame only Foley for being a child solicitor. In fact, read the morons over on yahoo message boards here, and you are already seeing trickle down Limbaugh spin: "Foley wasn't a REAL Republican" and "He acted just like Democrats do." BS, of course. But people are stupid.

I'm sick to death of these politicians getting away with all kinds of crimes. He says that he has a drinking problem, what has that to do with him wanting to mess with kids. If he was molested as a teen, then he should know the devastation it does to a child's mind. They need to cut off his private parts!!!!
