With the weather changing so much I've went from turning on the AC, to no AC, to heat, back to Air Conditioner. This time though the air coming out is not really cold. HELP!! I'm so hot! Keep in mind it worked well a couple of weeks ago.

Could be a freon gas leak--also about 9 other things. Recheck your wall t-stat settings again. Check the electrical breakers that supply 220v outside to the cond. unit--reset breakers. Go outside--put your hand over the cond. unit where the blower fan is blowing air--When in a/c mode--this air will be quite warm--if the air is cold--then the inside of the home is not cooling.Look down at the larger freon copper line going into the unit--is it frozen over with ice? If so -- then you might have a leak / the blower fan may be bad--not moving enough air / coils may be very dirty. Do you "hear" the compressor actually running? If not --perhaps it is bad--or the compressor capacitor is bad -- burned wire-- look under the terminal cover on the compressor itself for a bad wire connection to the compressor terminals. I can go on more--but as you can see -- you might want to call in some help on this one to trouble-shoot. Good Luck

Check the breakers inside the house (not likely as the fan is running) and check the power box outside the house. Those 2 big things inside the power box are fuses and they can blow. Turn off the power, take them out and do a simple test for continuity - or just replace them as they are cheap enough. Other reasons could be low on freon. Check your fan outside - is it spinning? If not the compressor will overheat and shut down.

verify your air filter out. in case you do not recognize what or the position the air filter out is, that in itself would factor out the mission and it really is an effortless pastime so as that you'll do. it really is positioned regularly in a go back grille(the grille sucking air in and again to the unit) or it could be positioned on your corridor closet or attatched storage if it really is the position your indoor unit is put in. also, the exterior unit. Take your backyard hose and delivers the condensor coil a good washing down, attempt to circumvent spraying the fan motor on proper of the unit instantly with water. also, circumvent bending the fins on the coil with too-extreme a water stress. It probable is only an effortless maintenence difficulty causing your decreased performance. good success!

They do have an ambient temperature sensor. Other reason dirty condenser making it shut down because of too much head pressure, and a lack of freon is the other. For one you need to clean the condenser for the other find the leak and recharge it.

There are numerous factors which could be the problem with your A/C. It could be the condenser is plugged with debris, the system could have a refrigerant leak, if a belt drive fan the belt could be worn. I'd need more info to evaluate properly.

make sure the breaker isn't off. When mine is off, the fan will continue to run and send out "not cold" air.

Replace the filter for starters.
Perhaps the coil has iced up? Give it time to melt and everything will be OK.

Could be because it's owner is reluctant to pay to get it fixed!
