Way back at the beginning of the 1970`s in England we had referendum, a simple "Yes" or "No"; vote, "Do you want Great Britain to join the Common Market?"( now the European Union)
I fear that too many people said "Yes" and too few said "No"
A once great and proud nation, we must now do as we are told. When the flood gates are fully opened and our land is so saturated we can not get a job or a home to live in. When our culture is buried and our language desecrated, I wonder if the "Yes" voters of the 1970`s will wish they had voted differently?

I think it's terrible the way 470,000 brits have left and moved to Spain, many of them to retire and placing a huge strain on the local resources there. Really selfish.
Also, the way British property speculators are buying up Bulgarian property for next to nothing and in so doing messing up key sectors of the Bulgarian economy, making economic migration from there more likely...
Hey ... wait a minute ... our borders ARE already open to the rest of Euope! [sic]

Your questions are interesting. I find it very intriguing how you are trolling Y! Answers. I personally don't appreciate it but you are free to do so as long as you don't violate Y! As for your question. I am not exactly sure what the British people think about opening their borders to the rest of Europe. I would assume that there is a difference of opinion in Britain on this subject ranging from closed borders to wide-open borders and would be interested in someone providing statistics regarding what the British people think about this subject.

I don't mind as long as we can absorb the numbers from euope (where is that exactly?). I notice so many times in this debate, no mention is made of the number of British emmigrants, which does not help informed debate.

More child prostitution More female slavery More gang land crime
At least the Polish People come here and work in ten years time their children will be English and it wont make a difference ...plus most Poles dont want to stay they just come here to make money
At least these people will bother to learn to speak english and they are coming to work here..AT least they ARE SKILLED.
However..........UK cannot even house its own people so why would it bring in more? To create a homeless problem into a phenomena? Oh im sorry it s bcs the population is falling, so we just let them in, well i say let people in but they must work and pay taxes and speak english thats not much to ask for is it and if a crime is commited then they get sent back home

the problem is that we will need people from the rest of Europe because we no longer have 2.4 children it is about 1.7 so in a few years we will run out of people to do the work to pay the pensions for the growing number of OAP's
Every MP knows this even if some wont admit but they also know that immigration is a hot subject when it comes to getting votes as there are a lot of stupid bigots out there.

Not a problem as long as the government strengthens our support system: NHS, transport system, housing, schools (I'm not just talking about class sizes, but about the difficulty teachers have teaching 30 in a class from different ethnic backgrounds - at what level do they pitch their teaching?).... list goes on!

We have far too many immigrants as it is... the UK is bursting at the seams. It's fine by me if they are coming here to work, contribute and pay taxes like the rest of us, but I totally disagree with the way our government gives many of them free housing, cars to ferry themselves around and so on. While at the same time the govn. are squeezing our health service dry while expecting us to work longer hours with less staff etc. It makes my blood boil.

We fear the unknown, well we expect more of the same.
We have had some erm! problems with some of our "guests", they have had a disproportionate effect on some of our crime figures ( as acknowledged by some of our leaders who are of a moderate persuasion) so we are not being unfair in voicing our concerns.
Hey Hammy, at least say British...-Kraut.
