No, nobody "knows" when. And considering NASA's track record for doing things when they say they are going to do them, I wouldn't pay much attention to their plans.

And to the folks who think we never went before, you're simply morons who are completely incapable of thinking for yourselves. Period.

Probably the Chinese will get there before we return to it.
There are new hopes of finding frozen deposits of water in the moon poles, which makes the idea of establishing a colony there more feasible and attractive.
The moon will be very important as a base to simplify and reduce the costs of space missions to other planets such as Mars.
It is also ideal to build telescopes there.
By the way, I saw an answer stating that in the moon there is no gravity. Nonsense. The gravity is just much lower that on earth, but exists!

Maybe in the next 200 years when the earth is about to be destroyed or is unsuitable for human survival then they Will send some men to the moon top see if it is suitable for life as a last resort...I'm just kidding i have no idea just listen out for it on the news or you can call NASA and ask them, maybe they Will be kind enough to answer or maybe they will just hang up the phone on you (that is if they answer in the first place). Anyways good luck on finding out.

Well, if we had ever actually been to the moon, then I would have to say soon. But, we never set a foot on the moon. How could we have had the technology to go into space when we didn't even have cell phones, vcr's, or even pc's. You tell me!! And btw, the flag would have been straight up on the "video" of the landing because there is no gravity. Also, what's up with the "footprints" on the moon?(remember there is no gravity to make prints) When you find out, let all of us unbelievers know please!!

You know, I believe they are going to bypass the moon and go straight for Mars if they can keep their funding. The real problem is the endless wars we are in. All of our resources are going to war and not to space exploration or saving the planet. Smart, huh?

Hmmm. Lots of wrong answers. Actually, NASA plans to return to the moon by 2018.

We have no plans to go back to the moon, we have done everything there we plan to do, there's nothing left for us to do there. We don't plan to build a colony there, at least for now.
