Ok so i bought an auto. i know thats not a racer thing to do. its a luxury car, so i didnt want to have to screw with shifting in the city. and LA is the worst. I bought the base because the S only comes stick. it has 16inch alloys, 160hp, leather. its a nice car. so is it a waste to buy into my homies telling me to 'upgrade' it? should i leave it as is, and know i have a nice car? and if an upgrade is possible, what would you suggest? ive messed with the clutchless stick thing, and it actually DOES improve my take off & overall power, but i dont live life a quarter mile at a time, so im just thinking overall power increase. any ideas? opinions? suggestions?

I have a base RSX. Replace the stock air filter with a K&N. You'll find there's more grunt off the line and your gas mileage will improve. Install a front strut brace. Your car will corner flatter. If you want to spend the money, get a cat back exhaust system. It will also slightly increase performance.

The RSX has great resale value. Don't mess it up with junk add ons.

It's not worth it. You drive city, and you are annoyed enough by the constant speed changes to buy an AUTO, i would guess that fixing up the engine would be a waste if you dont drive that fast in the city. Plus you wont really feel any significan power increases on an auto, unless you increase the whp by 30+, or drop a couple hundred pounds off the body. Any another reason not to spend you money on an rsx is that its front wheel drive, personally i vowed never to buy front wheel drive cars after my first car b/c they can lose so much traction on the ground. The only FF car i would consider buying is an intergra but anyways, the engine on the rsx is for economy and doesn't really respond well to engine upgrades unless you professionally tune and map the AF readings in the ecu. Its not worth fixing up, maybe some rims and a catback, but thats it.
