i'm looking for a ford or chevy car to fix up so i can learn how to fix up cars, my money tight and i want to work on a nice car ( dones't matter just wishful thinking). i do want a older car so if you can give me some hints it would be helpful.

A Ford six from the 60s, like a Falcon, Maverick or Mustang :)

get a early 80's mustang with a 4 cylinder engine. they are extremely easy to work on with tons of room under the hood. replacement parts are relitivily inexpensive, and there is a lot available from salvage yards too. the fox body mustangs drive and handle well, with a 4cyl engine gas milage isn't bad either.
you can get a chiltons or haynes manual that will show you step by step how to do repairs, and you don't need a ton of tools to do your own repairs. also the mustang is a great looking car and no one is gonna make fun of you for driving one (except for those inbred chevy drivers, lol)

any car that has a carberated engine. these are relatively easy to work on and don't require a lot of expensive test equipment. this type of engine will give you the general basics of how things work.

Either one would be fine as long as you arm yourself with a good
repair manual for it
