There was a big object that passed during my period. I am not sure if it is tissue or what it is. Should I take this to the doctor's? Would they think it is weird or gross if I brought it in?

If it really worries you take a picture of it and show your doc.

During your period you shed the lining of your uterus, so you get lumpy bits of tissue mixed in with the blood (My period is so light these days that I hardly get any blood, just the bits of lining). It's quite normal, however if the "object" was quite big, there could a possibility that you were pregnant and have miscarried.

object? what sort of object?

if it's a blood clot (jelly blood) no need to bring it in; however, do recommend recording on a calendar when it came in your cycle.

if it's a big clear jelly, it could be your ovulation... again.. good to track

if it's neither of these perhaps call your doctor's office and ask them.

always record any activites 'down there' so you can identify trends and become aware of problems and provide accurate histories to your doctors.

good luck

Was your period late? Or did you have a positive pregnancy test? The OB won't want you to bring it in because it is contaminated and they can't do testing on it. But call them and tell them what happened and they might want to do some blood work to make sure everything is OK.

Yeah, most likely it is a bloodclot. Sometimes they are more apparent in your period, depending on your hormones, affected by stress, etc.

I would not recommend bringing it in, because that would be gross. Rather, at your next doc appointment, describe it to him/her.

your doctor is there for you to ask questions. if you think that you should talk to her(him) than do it. you shouldnt be embarrased, doctors have seen everything. if this object makes you feel in "danger" or makes you wonder about your health, and you're not sure if you can get away from the thought, than talk about it. its NEVER bad to talk about health things with your doctor.

if it wasnt a blood clot def take it to your gyn. they deal with all kinds of things so they wont think its gross and if they do who cares they will find out what it is and you will have some peace of mind, besides you pay them for their services so even if they get grossed out at least they are being paid for it

NOOOO, that is so normal, sometimes you have actual blood clots, so don't worry, I mean you are getting rid of ur eggs so don't worry, you may have more or bigger clots if you have a heavy flow.Hope this helps.
