When talking to a coworker?

She totally ignores company policy and does as she pleases, just because that way isn't right, even though she's only been here for a year. Not to mention she's got an associate degree in the wrong field and I've got a bachelor's in the right field and have been here for over 5 years. Our boss can't even control her.

Anyone have any ideas how to deal with this? She really is a nice girl, and other from this she's great to work with.

If she's ignoring company policy and the higher ups have noticed then it is up to them to give her a verbal reprimand, if that doesn't help follow up with a written reprimand. It's a frustrating situation to be in when they can 't see that they aren't following company directives, even more so when they think everyone else is wrong and they are right.

well then consult your boss.
regardless of how nice she is, if the boss has a problem, then the boss has the final word.
And by the way, you should know that a great majority of jobs are filled by people with diffrent degrees! when did YOU go to college anyway....1970's!?
