Only if it needed to put out of its misery. That would be a hard decision to make . It would be best to let the owner of the pet make that decision. I hit a snowshoe hare(by accident) about a month ago. it flop to the side of the road .I stop got out and made the decision to crush its skull with a really big rock. I didn't feel real good about it but I would have felt worse about letting it suffer any longer .

No, I could never do that, I would feel bad enough just hitting it. I would look for the owners, and pay for the vet bill if no one was around I would take it to the nearest vet. Then if it was too bad to take to a vet. I would take it off the road, and stay with it, then call some one to take care of the remains.
