You don't need to wait for the next version of Palm OS to have Yahoo Messenger. There are several IM programs that connect to several IM services, including AIM, Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ, and others.

My favorite IM that I use is Mundu IM:

Yahoo has no official PDA clients, either Palm or PPC; so doubt it will include one of those multisession clients bundled even though they are very good for PDAs.
