Alright, my friends and I (we are now all seniors in high school) did this haunted driveway thing last year on my driveway (it's about 900 ft long and surrounded by woods). In about two days we set it up, and had our fun as we scared probably about twenty people (I know, only twenty). After we did it we realized it could have been so much more, and could have benefited our class or some charity.
Therefore this year we want to do it again, but better than last year. That is why I'm asking you guys for advice on some scary things we can do. I'm not talking about corny scary, but seriously freaky (not gruesome, but people popping out of nowhere, etc.).
Last year we...
- had people pop out of the woods
- had a kid light his hand on fire (wd-40 + a welding glove)
- two kids with chainless chainsaws
- masks and scary costumes galore
- attempt at murder scene seen through a strobe light
- dummy dropping out of tree
If you have any ideas then please let me know

Whats really cool, is if you have a tour guide to guide the people down your driveway, and have a theme murder/suicide story to be told along the way. If you advertise this, hand fliers at school hang up fliers on walls, etc. You may be able to get groups of people to come through in shifts. Waiting in line is suspenseful in it's self! The guide could have a script to follow about the family that use to live in the house up the driveway. The dad went psycho one night, and his family went missing. There have been rumors of odd happenings and sounds coming from the woods. If you have enough volunteers, plant a person or two "in line" that knows what is going on, and have them build the suspense with the waiting customers. Have them say things like, "No, seriously, I heard that this was true!" or "OMG! I am gonna freak out!" And have them grab people, pretend to faint, or better yet, have someone in the woods jump out and seriously grab her and drag her into the woods screaming!! That would be awesome from the stand point of the other customers, because they assume she is just another person waiting to go on the tour! (Little did they know, that she was in on it all along!!) Well, it sounds like you've got your work cut out for ya! Have fun, be safe and Happy Haunting!

indexed right here are some options: Take the lightbuld out in the relax room, all and sundry using it might want to have a dreadful time. mattress room: get some thing that resembles a headstone and lay it on the mattress (like from that scene from Halloween?) and keep the homestead windows huge open, with a bit of luck a cold nighttime will fill the room. Kitchen. you want a flickering elementary (keep away from candles, do not favor to truly create a horror scene now can we!!) and smear the floor with ketchup or some thing similar yet in the shape as if some thing has been dragged alongside.........open the homestead windows to allow the chilliness flow through. The livingroom: splatter a number of that red sauce up the wall, yet keep in mind blood truly does splatter so do not over do it. homestead windows...huge open. dimmed lighting fixtures. possibly you'll get a CD or create one with faint yet unusal noises.

Try getting one of those fog machines, to make it creepy
Record the noise of a chainsaw, and while people are passing by have it play it and then out of nowhere have some one run or pop behind/infront the people
Flickering lights
Replicas of blood or something gruesome
Have Fun =)

At a haunted house I went to once, they had this room that was painted all black with different colored neon masks that were on the wall. The lights were off and all that was on was a black light( works better with a room that doesn't leak any light into it). You had to wear 3D glasses, and all the masks on the wall glowed from the black light and looked like they were at different angles coming at you. All of a sudden, one of the masks really does start charging you! There was a guy in the corner dressed entirely in black with just a mask on, and at the right moment he runs at you! Gets lots of screams!
Here's a website that may give you some good ideas of a really popular haunted house in my area!

there's this house i pass by almost EVERY halloween... scares the crap out of me!!! but soooooo freakin awesome :)
pick a window in your house... preferrably an upstairs one.. turn off all the lights in there.. get one of those flashy lights (no colors!) that flash on and off really fast... THEN,
get a michael myers mask, a HUGE butcher knife (or a knife that you would "stab" someone with), and dress in dark blue or black... when people walk by, point at them and do a stabbing motion with the knife, stand there and stare at them, get really close to the window and "try to get out", etc.... oh, and try to have the music from his movies there too... not too loud though...
seriously... the kids AND adults will DEFINITELY get a kick out of it... literally scares the crap out of me every time... but VERY entertaining and fun!

Grapes as Eyeballs (make sure they are in Tapioca Pudding)
Crushed up cookies for dirt
Spaghetti for worms
Create a Jello Brain
Get a huge box and cut holes in it and label it, and have people put their hands in it.
