What date (month,day,date,year) did the patriots play in the NFL?

the Boston Patiots began play in 1960 with the 8 teams of American Football League (founded Nov. 22, 1959). In 1971 they moved to Foxboro and changed the name.
When that league merged with the NFL (also 1971) the now New England Patriots went with it.

The merger of the NFL and the AFL occurred prior to the 1970 season, not the 1971 season.
