I have been taking my temperature every morning before I get out of bed for almost 3 weeks. The only time I've noticed it rise was when I had my period. However, from what I have read, it should rise a 1/2 degree or so when I'm ovulating. Have those of you that have actually tried this found that to be true?

I just started charting this month and all I can tell you from MY experience is that the 1st day I charted was the 1st day of my menses it was in the 96. range, in the past 2 week's it has flucuated to 95. & 97., I just keep thinking that NEXT month I can look at the graph and notice where it really jump's the day AFTER ovulation. Good luck TTC!

In my case, and a lot of other cases, monitoring the bbt is simply a waste of time. I tempted every morning for 2 months and my temp stayed between 97.3 and 97.8 all the time. My doctor said that some women's temps just steady out and therefore he told me not to bother with it anymore.

yes it does work, im sure you've seen sample charts of what it should look like when you are ovualting and having normal cycles.. the big spike during ovulation, stays high during lutreal phase and DROPS when you get your period.. thats what it should do anyway.. perhaps you have hormonal imbalances? or you're not taking temps properly? are you taking it at the SAME time every day? before you drink anything or speak even?
