You can buy acoustic ceiling tiles at any home center, or lumber yard. If you already have a suspended ceiling, you could just remove the tiles that are already there and replace them with the more acoustically sound-proof tiles.

If you don't have a suspended ceiling in place, you can always apply sound-proofing directly to the ceiling.

Seeing as how sound can be transferred through walls, plumbing, and heating/air conditioning ducts, it will be tough to make your condo totally sound proof.

You can always go another route, and try to mask the noise. Most department stores have Sound Generators for sale. They produce various soothing sounds that can mask out a noisy neighbor.. I use one of these I bought from radio shack. It has about five different sounds to choose from. I like the ocean wave sound. It is extremely soothing, and helps me get right to sleep every night.

I hope I was able to help you out a little. I wish you luck on making your condo a little more noise-free.

as the other person mentioned you simply cannot stop all the sound from coming down to your floor. And he didnt mention the cost involved with what it will take to do what you desire which may run into the hundreds or more ...in dollars...its simply a bad situation, I would either talk to them in person and mention the noise or move...
