Take a train then. You'll arrive at Charing Cross where you can take the London Underground's Bakerloo Line northbound to Paddington, and there a train to Bristol. You'll have to know which Bristol station you require - Bristol Temple Meads is a terminus in the city centre, Bristol Parkway is located in the north of the city and is a stopping station for trains to South Wales (usually ending at Swansea). The Paddington - Bristol journey is 90 minutes, the Bakerloo journey less than 30 minutes, and you'll have to find how long the Canterbury-Charing Cross train journey is for yourself (probably 75-90 minutes, I imagine).

Hire a helicopter, but if you don't have the spondoolicks, then train from Bristol to London (Victoria Stn) tube (underground) to Waterloo Stn then train to Canterbury. Sorry, I can't help you with times or connections, perhaps you can search the web and book tickets online?
