I have a 1997 Ford Explorer and when it gets dark my headlights come on automatically, but when i turn off the car my headlights are still on and dont go off until about 5 or 10 minutes later and i cant stand it! I bought the suv without an owners manual and would like to know if anyone knew how i can turn them on and off myself.

My Jeep Grand Cherokee does that too but not for 5-10 minutes...more like 30 seconds. Anyway, my digital display that says the temperature, gas milage ect can be programmed to disable that feature. Maybe its the same for you if you have that display in your Ford. Good Luck

The daylight hours gentle Relay - carry the hood. There could be a three X 4" relay field hidden on the LH inner fender. Unplug it. shouldn't result the operation of the headlights. in case you're no longer able to discover, touch the provider branch at your close by card broking to discover the place it precisely located.

your lights will not shut off after dark there automatic-theres a lil sensor in the dash that turns them on when its dark-if you dont want them on after you turn off your car shut the key off-take the key out and then turn your light swtch all the way on and off and they should shut off before you even get out-this is the only way i can shut mine off-hope this helps ya
