he is good when the game isn't on the line or the bases or empty. Come playoff time or in the clutch he buckles. I saw it with the Mariners, the Rangers, and now the Yankees. He struck out today with the bases loaded. Even his teammates are fed up with his inability to produce in the clutch.

At the age of 31, he has 464 homers and over 2,000 hits. He's won multiple MVP awards, and has a lifetime OPS of .958. If he plays for another 8 years and stays healthy during that time, he'll retire as the all-time home run king. He also has a good shot to finish in the top 5 all-time of RBI, and very high on the runs list.
So, yeah, I'd say he's a pretty good player.

His numbers speak for themselves. At .290, 35 HRs, and 121 RBIs, I would take him on my team anyday. And this was a bad year. He put up these numbers and got boo'ed. A-Rod is one of the top 5 players in the game right now and since the Rangers are paying a lot of his salary, he is actually quite a bargain.

He is a very talented baseball player, he has been at or near the top of the league in stats about every year. This past year he has been down, but look for him to shine in the playoffs this year!!!

he is one of the greatest players to play the game, but has a serious problem handling pressure. the spotlight is far too bright for some people. one of a-rod's biggest failings is his inability to handle his own shortfalls. he admits that he tries too hard to be the best, and that's what hurts him the most.

He's a good, even borderline great, player in the regular season; a crappy player in the post season and "clutch" moments.

are u on somethin?! the fans dont give him enough credit. with 35 hrs, 121 RBIs, and .290 avg. that's a great year for anybody. the only reason people say he's not good is cuz they're not Yankee fans and they're jealous of him makin that money.
