I’m assuming that you are interested in this for the production of fuel, if however, you have thoughts of personal consumption, the second site provides potential problems with incorrect construction.

These are not the times of my grandparents, some of whom with other relatives, were involved in such production. The production of a quality (and safe) product is both a science and an art. There are a number of different potential products which can be produced, for example, Apple Jack which is best created from correctly selected apples, correctly distilled, and then aged in oak kegs. You are looking into a subject which is likely far larger than you first perceived.
