First it's spelled Vicodin. Second you've already exceeded your safe dosage. DO NOT EXCEED THE DOSAGE LABEL. This is very important especially with vicodin. Vicodin is usually paired with tylenol or advil. Either of these in large doses can injure your kidneys. Vicodin is a very potent narcotic, be very careful.

You are either mis-using the medication in an effort to sooth the your sore throat or your doctor docotr is is writing a very strong narcotic in for an improper reason. Vicodin is a Class III pain killer and is never to treat an infection. Infections are treated with antibiotics and not painkillers!
If you have a sore throat then use asprian, Tylenol, Advil, etc treat the pain. And the Vicodin makes you tired because it is a central nervous system depressant.
I have used VicodinESS (10mg/750 APAP) for managing the pain of 5 broken ribs and Oxycotin when I fractured several lumbar vertebrates - both under the supervision of a physician.

Vicodine is a controlled substance and is highly addictive. If not taken as directed it may cause drowsiness, constricted pupils, and nausea. Vicodin negatively effects a person's mind and body and the effects can be serious and deadly. This is not the appropriate place to ask this question. Go to www.miramar.sdccd.cc.ca.us to see more important information on Vicodine. Read it before you do anything else. If you don't and make the mistake of driving, your judgment will be impaired and you could be stopped for DUI for driving under the influence of a controlled substance. If your blood work then shows you do have the drug in your system, you'll have no negotiating room to try and get a DUI charge reduced to a lesser charge with a less harsh sentence. You need to discuss this with your doctor only and DO NOT FOLLOW ADVICE THAT TELLS YOU OTHERWISE.

When they made you tired, the medication was beginning to affect you. If you are still in pain, try some non-narcotic pain relief for the throat...have you tried the numbing sprays like Chloraseptic? Or perhaps you could try to gargle with warm salty water to cleanse the infection away a bit. Even sipping a hot liquid can sometimes help a bad throat. DO not take more of the medications. You should contact your physician to let him/her know that you are still in pain and could use something to numb your throat. Try to get some rest, too.

Be sure the mg is 5! To help with a throat infection you need to take 800mg of Advil or Motrin to help with the inflammation. The Vicodin will only help with the pain. I work for a Dr's office and this is what we recommend to our patients! Hope you feel better.

Hun, if you don't know if you've taken 3 or 2 then its time to take a nap and not take another one. If you are tired and your throat is infected your body wants sleep to fight the infection. When you conserve energy you will get better faster. Go take a nap, it will help.

You shouldnt take more than two at a time, every three to four hours. More than that you can cause damage to your liver/kidneys. Vicodin contains hydrocodone and acetaminophen (tylenol). Tylenol has been shown to cause damage to your organs if its taken to frequently or in excess.

Pop a few extra and don't listen to these experts. Yeah they can damage your liver, but you have to take a whole bunch over a long period of time.
If you feel uncomfortable, stop taking them.

the drug will have no affect on your throat. You need to see a doctor. You probably have strep throat.
