I personally know several people and find myself becoming resentful that I have to support their lifestyle when many seem capable of making a living for themselves.

I totally agree with what you are saying. It's unfortunate that people have to abuse a system that is suppose to help others. I do some disability testing where I work. There are some who truly need it and cannot work while there are those they are trying to fake the system. The sad part is that those who really need it can't get it or it takes them forever to receive it and those who don't need it (liars) can get disability with no problem.......

Yep I see it also. Alot of people get by without working and they get more money on disability than I do working a full time job.. It makes me upset to see these people living on more than I do and they dont do a dam thing. I think at least 80% are on disablility. I am a single mom of 2 kids and I have to struggle. The government needs to open there eyes and do something about it. People who work hard should be the ones getting more money. take care.

Yes, there would be people with disabilities who could be working but are not. However, I am a carer for people with profound intellectual disabilities and can assure you that there are many people out there who are not able to work and would do anything to be able to join the workforce.

do you base your answers on medical opinion?
how do you know? the govt is pretty strict these days i heard in this area turn down rate fro disability applicants is 90%.
do you have info they are faking symptoms do you know for sure what the disability is?
fakers make it hard for others but be careful don't pretend you know medical records etc.. can you see who has cancer? aids ? ms? alchemy's? suicidal? ptsd?etc for sure?.
neuro and psych things especially are even sometimes tough for Md's and PhD's to sort out.
and dont think if someone says oh its just one thing that its not something serious you cant see and they dont want you to know.
tread carefully as in playing doctor you may violate the ADA.

I totally know what you mean. I know of one girl I used to go to school with who uses depression as her meal ticket. My Uncle claims he can't work because of arthritis. It's ridiculous. They are both just lazy and want everything for free. Just like people collecting welfare and milking the system, but yet the people that really need it get turned down.

A large percentage. But since that percentage is probably lying about their disability, we'll never know.

I would rather have the lazy folks stay home for 600 dollars a month, than have them work next to me causing me to work twice as hard.
Better watch what you wish for,you just might get it.

when somebody is on disability, you are not suporting them in any way shape or form, its insurance which we all pay into, just be happy you can still work.
