you should be a wizard on photo shop, indesign and illustrator, anything adobe puts out and that is a good start

Pretty much any or all of the programs that Adobe makes. I would focus on PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator. It all really depends on what kind of design you want to do. Good luck!
